This 25 Pin Parallel Cable provides bi-directional connectivity between a PC and a Printer via a spare USB port.
If you need to connect to a printer that uses the older style 25 Pin connecter then this cable/adapter is ideal.
The cable is 1.8 Meters (Nominal) in length and no drivers are needed unless you are using Windows 98/ME
(Windows 98/ME drivers are downloadable via our website).
This USB to 25 Pin Parallel provides a 25 Pin Female Parallel Connecter as shown below which connects to the printer end.
Your printer needs to have a 25 Pin Male connecter in order for this to be suitable!
If your printer does not have a 25 Pin Male connecter, and has a standard 36 Pin Centronics connecter or a Micro Centronics connecter then please see the "Related Products" for a suitable adapter.
If you are unsure which USB to Parallel adapter to use, count the number of pins your printer connecter has and either purchase the correct one from our selection or email us with the Printer Name, Model, Number of Pins and if you are using any other cable. FAQs
Q: Does this work on a HP Laserjet 1100 or 1100A (HP1100A) using the existing 25 pin cable that came with the printer.
A: This DOES NOT WORK with a HP1100 or HP1100A.
Both 2482 - USB to 36 Pin Centronics & 2487 - HP Micro C Cable are required to get your HP1100/HP1100A working under Windows XP, Vista & Windows 7.
Q: Can this USB to 25 Pin Parallel Adapter be used for other purposes that require a parallel port e.g. Used with Scanners or Dongles?
A: This USB to 25 Pin Parallel only provides printing support and cannot be used with Protection Dongles or Scanners.
