This USB - Parallel Cable provides bi-directional connectivity between any standard IEEE-1284 compliant parallel port devices and the USB interface.
If you need to connect to your printer via a USB port then this cable/adaptor is ideal. This cable is 2.0m in length and no drivers are needed unless you are using Win98 (Windows 98 drivers are supplied).
The supported printer list is as follows (may support others):

Note:
This adaptor provides a standard size Centronics connector however some (e.g. HP) printers have a half pitch Centronics Micro-C connector (approx 2.5cm wide) and may need a further adapter which is listed below.

Q: How do I get a HP Laserjet 1100 or 1100A (HP1100) working on a USB only PC/Laptop.
A: Both 2482 - USB to 36 Pin Centronics & 2487 - HP Micro C Cable are required to get your HP1100/HP1100A working under Windows XP, Vista & Windows 7.
Q: Does this also provide scanning / faxing / coping (Multi Function Printers e.g. HP1100A) capability or provide access to use with Protection Dongles.
A: No, USB to Parallel Printer Adapters only provide printer functionality and are not "True Parallel Ports" therefore only the printer functions shall work on most MFP. Please purchase a PCMCIA Parallel Adapter / A Docking Station that has True Parallel Ports and not Parallel Printer Ports.
